When you finally decide to start getting rid of your old stuff, the decluttering decision fatigue often hits. Your progress is slowed down every time you get stuck wondering if you should get rid of or keep an item.

The good news? Getting started is the hardest part and you've already done that. Pat yourself on the back!

The other good news? These seven questions are here to help you overcome this decluttering speed bump. Toss decision fatigue aside! Your light and airy decluttered home awaits.

Here is the decluttering decision fatigue question list:

  1. Do I have something else similar to it or that can fill the role it fills?

(For example, do I have two beige dresses but I like one better than the other? Do I have two different spatulas and always find myself reaching for one over the other?)

  1. Is there something else I’d rather put in the space it’s currently filling?

(Would I rather store something else there or would it be nice to have some empty space for a change?)

  1. Have I used it within the last year?

(If not, why do I think I would use it in the next year?)

  1. Is the only reason I’m keeping it an unlikely scenario?

(Is this really a good reason to keep it?)

  1. If that unlikely scenario happens, would I be able to easily and cheaply get another one?

(If so, why hold onto it?)

  1. Do I know someone else who would enjoy using it?

(Would it make me happier to give it to them than keep it for myself?)

  1. Could I make some money by selling it and buy something I want more?

(What if I put it toward a vacation or my dream home?)
